Over time, Palmas del Mar developed from a sugar cane plantation into the first Master-Planned Community in the Caribbean. It all began in the 1970's when Charles Fraser and Esteban Padilla shared the vision of turning a beautiful 2,800-acre land into a truly magnificent oceanfront residential-resort community.
